WWE Smackdown: Drew McIntyre Adds to Bloodline Hit List
Drew McIntyre knows how to hold a grudge.
Now that his long battle with CM Punk is over, the two-time former WWE champion is targeting Roman Reigns’ allies.
McIntyre is still angry that the Bloodline interfered to cause him to lose to Reigns at last year’s Clash at the Castle.
He has been going after Sami Zayn and the Usos for reforming the Original Bloodline with Reigns.
Solo Sikoa opened last night’s Smackdown, and McIntyre interrupted to remind all of us that Sikoa was part of the Bloodline at that time as well.
McIntyre encouraged Sikoa to defeat Roman Reigns on the Raw Netflix debut on Jan. 6. But then, McIntyre said, he would finish his business with Solo.
Jimmy Uso attacked McIntyre with a crutch, and a huge brawl broke out that led into the opening match.
Sikoa teamed with Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga to beat LA Knight, Andrade, and Apollo Crews.
TAG TEAM TITLE
In the main event, Bianca Belair teamed with new partner Naomi to defend the WWE women’s tag team title with a win over Nia Jax & Candice LeRae.
We still don’t know who attacked Jade Cargill, which forced Belair to find a new partner.
Carmelo Hayes asked for a rematch from last week’s loss to Braun Strowman. Hayes got his wish, and he won by countout.
Johnny Gargano defeated Alex Shelley in a rematch from their battles on the Midwest independent scene. Their respective teams, #DIY and Motor City Machine Guns, are feuding over the WWE tag team title.
MORE SMACKDOWN, PLEASE
Raw will move back to three hours with the debut on Netflix, but Smackdown viewers won’t be left out.
For the first time in the show’s 25-year history, Smackdown will expand to three hours, starting on Jan. 3 on the USA Network.
