Sometimes it pays to be a Paul Heyman guy.

Roman Reigns was having a hard time finding a fifth member of his Survivor Series team for the War Games battle against Bloodline 2.0 at Survivor Series next weekend.

During last night’s Smackdown, his Original Bloodline team found itself outnumbered in a confrontation by a 5-4 margin.

That’s when Heyman, the Bloodline’s “Wiseman,” revealed that former client CM Punk would join the team.

A brawl ensued, which ended with Punk and Reigns on the same page, Heyman looking on in approval, and the fans chanting “This is awesome!”

Next week on Smackdown, Jey Uso will face Jacob Fatu to determine which team will have the War Games advantage (2-on-1, 3-on-2, etc.)

JADE CARGILL ATTACKED

The women’s division was rocked by a backstage attack on Jade Cargill. Nobody saw who did it, but Cargill was found sprawled on the hood of a car.

This revelation took place during a triple threat match. Cargill’s partner, Bianca Belair, left ringside. Chelsea Green pinned Blair Davenport to advance in the women’s U.S. title tournament.

Cargill was supposed to be in next week’s tournament match against Piper Niven and Michin. She is also scheduled to compete in the women’s War Games match at Survivor Series.

CODY-OWENS CONFRONTATION

Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens talked about their recent differences in the ring. Rhodes was upset about Owens’ piledriver attack on Randy Orton.

Owens complained about Cody teaming up with Roman Reigns after Owens and Cody spent more than a year battling his Bloodline group.

Cody pointed out that Owens is his own worst enemy who didn’t “pull the trigger” and beat Rhodes for the WWE title at Bash in Berlin.

OTHER ACTION

LA Knight defeated Santos Escobar to retain the United States title. Shinsuke Nakamura attacked Knight after the match.

Bayley & Naomi defeated Tiffany Stratton & Candice LeRae by disqualification when Nia Jax interfered. The women’s War Games teams brawled after the bout.

Montez Ford beat Tomasso Ciampa. Their respective teams (The Street Profits and #DIY) are trying to get a shot at Motor City Machine Guns for the WWE tag team title.
