WWE Smackdown: Charlotte Flair Returning at Royal Rumble
Charlotte Flair led a group of notable names who declared for the women’s Royal Rumble last night on Smackdown.
Charlotte has amassed 14 World titles in her career, just two behind her father (Ric Flair) and John Cena.
She has been out of action for more than a year with knee injury.
Naomi, Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, and Bianca Belair also threw their hats into the ring for the Rumble. They are all former World champions.
This led to a six-woman match in which Jax, Morgan & Candice LeRae defeated Belair, Naomi & Rhea Ripley.
In another women’s tag team match, Michin & B-Fab defeated Chelsea Green & Piper Niven. Michin will get another shot at Green’s US title next week.
TRANSFER WINDOW
Smackdown picked up two former World champions, as Damien Priest and The Miz transferred from Raw. In return, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory are heading to Raw.
Priest made a successful debut, as he defeated Carmelo Hayes with the South of Heaven chokeslam.
Motor City Machine Guns defeated Pretty Deadly in the opening match. MCMG will get a chance to regain the WWE tag team belts from #DIY in a best-of-three-falls match at the Rumble.
Later in the night, MCMG distracted Johnny Gargano, leading to his loss to Apollo Crews.
LA Knight defeated Tama Tonga with the Blunt Force Trauma.
Kevin Owens won the main event over Jimmy Uso with the pop-up powerbomb.
