WWE Raw: Will The New Day Survive Its 10th Anniversary?
The New Day has been one of the most successful teams in WWE history, but they are falling apart.
The timing couldn’t be worse because next week, the team will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Raw.
Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods lost quickly to Akira Tozawa & Otis, who are still called “Alpha Academy” despite the fact that teacher Chad Gable left them months ago.
After the bout, Kingston and Woods argued bitterly. Kingston said the quiet part out loud when he said Woods wasn’t World championship material.
Woods retorted that while Kingston became WWE champion, he lost the belt to Brock Lesnar in six seconds.
Of course, the missing ingredient is their partner Big E, another former WWE champion who has been out for more than a year with a neck injury.
We’ll see if Big E can bring his friends back together next week, or if The New Day will finally explode.
WAR GAMES ADVANTAGE
Bianca Belair won the main event in a non-title match with WWE women’s champion Nia Jax. As a result, Belair’s War Games team will have the advantage at Survivor Series this Saturday.
However, Belair’s team needs another member, as Jade Cargill will be on the injured list for a long time.
That new member could be Bayley, who helped Belair score the win against Jax.
OTHER RAW ACTION
World champion Gunther opened the show in a verbal confrontation with Damien Priest before their title match at Survivor Series. In the ensuing brawl, Priest put the champion through a table.
The Creed Brothers won a Texas Tornado match, which means all four wrestlers are in the ring at the same time. They beat Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee when Julius twisted Rey’s mask and rolled him up for the pin.
Finn Balor & JD McDonagh of The Judgment Day retained the World tag team title by defeating The War Raiders.
Sheamus attacked Bron Breakker during an Intercontinental title defense against Ludwig Kaiser. As a result, Bron will defend the belt at Survivor Series against Kaiser and Sheamus in a Triple Threat match.
Speaking of the IC belt, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced that the women will get their own version of the title. Smackdown is doing the same thing by introducing a women’s United States championship.
