WWE Raw: Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens Dream of WrestleMania Glory

Sami Zayn declared his intentions to win the Royal Rumble last night on Raw, adding to a stacked lineup of participants.

Kevin Owens came out, and everyone expected him to attack Zayn due to his partnership with Roman Reigns.

Instead, Owens explained that Sami was a good man who had forgiven Reigns and Owens himself for their past crimes.

Owens called Sami his best friend and recalled them winning the WWE tag team title from The Usos in the main event of WrestleMania 39 (Night 1).

Owens said that if he beats Cody Rhodes and Zayn wins the Rumble, the Montreal buddies could appear in another WrestleMania main event for the WWE title.

“I’ve got your back, Sami,” Owens said, “and I know you’ve got my back.”

After Seth Rollins beat Drew McIntyre in the main event, Zayn saved Rollins from a post-match attack. However, Zayn accidentally gave Rollins the Heluva Kick.

IT’S BAYLEY!

Bayley is the newest member of the Raw roster, transferring from Smackdown. She declared for the Royal Rumble.

Last year, things couldn’t have gone better for Bayley. She won the Rumble, set the longevity record (63 minutes), and won the championship at WrestleMania.

Things didn’t go well in the ring for Bayley last night. While she won an outside-the-ring confrontation with Roxanne Perez, Bayley lost her Raw comeback match to Nia Jax.

After the bout, Rhea Ripley came out to brawl with Jax.

NOBODY LIKES NEW DAY

Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods continue to be rejected by the fans after dumping Big E from The New Day.

Rey Mysterio defeated Kingston in a singles bout. New Day attacked Joaquin Wilde of Rey’s Latino World Order faction after the match.

Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky) won an entertaining bout against Pure Fusion Collective (Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark).

Penta looked impressive again, winning his second bout on Raw over Pete Dunne. Penta hit the Sacrifice armbreaker and the Penta Driver for the victory.
