Wings Set To Host Caitlin Clark, Fever Before Olympic Break

The first part of the Dallas Wings season has been anything but great.

Dallas sits at just 5-19 which is last place in the WNBA standings after finishing in a franchise-best fourth last season.

With all that being said, the Wings sit less than five games out of the final playoff spot with sixteen games to go in the season.

On Wednesday, the Wings will play their final game before the Olympic break and it is set to be a thriller.

Catlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will return to the College Park Center for the first time in the regular season.

Monday afternoon on social media, the Wings announced that Wednesday’s showdown between the Fever and Wings had been sold out. It will mark the Wings’ sixth sellout in its first twelve regular season games.

Fans who couldn’t snag tickets to Wednesday’s game can catch all the action on ESPN with tipoff slated for 6:30 PM.

Several Wings fans on social media were calling for the Wings to move the game to a bigger venue like the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas.

“Move it to a bigger venue, like come on now!” One X user wrote. Another said, “It’s not too late to move the game to American Airlines Center”.

Teams such as the Las Vegas Aces and Washington Mystics have moved their games against the Fever to arenas.

Following the Fever-Wings showdown, the WNBA season will break for about a month for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game and Paris 2024 Olympics.

Arike Ogunbowale will take part in the All-Star Game for the fourth time in her six-year WNBA career. Ogunbowale will be on Team WNBA as they take on the US Olympic team on Saturday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m. CT in Phoenix.

Wings fans will get their first look at Satou Sabally in 2024 during the Olympics. Sabally has missed the entire season with a shoulder injury.

However, Sabally has been cleared to play for Team Germany in the upcoming Olympic games and will return to the Wings when Dallas takes on the Connecticut Sun on August 16th to resume the WNBA season.
