Who’s the Boss? Dominick Mysterio Learns a Lesson from Rhea Ripley on WWE Raw
Rhea Ripley opened WWE Monday Night Raw by challenging Liv Morgan for the World women’s title at SummerSlam.
Jey Uso tried to take advantage of Ripley’s “newly single” status, which caused Dominick Mysterio to challenge him to a match.
Liv tried to have a romantic moment with Dom during the match, prompting Ripley to come out. Liv bailed into the crowd, and Jey won with the Uso Splash off the top rope.
After the match, Ripley said she belongs to nobody, but Dominick belongs to her.
Earlier in the night, Zelina Vega said she wanted a title shot at the Rhea-Liv winner. That’s not likely because Vega lost to Sonya Deville in just over a minute.
DeVille’s partners also had a good night, as Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark defeated former women’s tag team champions Kayden Carter & Katana Chance.
Drew McIntyre is trying to get a match at SummerSlam against CM Punk. Instead, General Manager Adam Pearce suspended McIntyre for failing to apologize to some WWE referees.
Seth Rollins then came out and brawled with McIntyre, so he could be Drew’s opponent if Punk is not ready to return from his triceps injury.
Erick Rowan, a member of the Wyatt Sicks faction, talked about the deaths of the previous family members (Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper). He is trying to move on with the new group led by Bray’s brother, Bo “Uncle Howdy” Dallas.
WORLD TITLE SHOWDOWN
Gunther, the King of the Ring, came out to talk about his World title match against Priest at SummerSlam. The Austrian ring general had the attitude that the entire WWE was beneath him and that Priest should just hand him the title.
Priest was victorious in a non-title match over former Universal champion Braun Strowman. “El Campeon” won with the South of Heaven chokeslam.
Sheamus continued his comeback with a win over Bronson Reed. However, Pete Dunne is still angry about the dissolution of the Brawling Brutes, so he attacked Sheamus and set him up for a Tsunami splash by Reed.
Sami Zayn defended the Intercontinental title against Ilya Dragonov in the main event. Bron Breakker interrupted the match to get Sami disqualified. Don’t be surprised to see a three-way for the title at SummerSlam.
