Who Will Win the AEW Continental Classic?

All Elite Wrestling is based on great wrestling matches, as opposed to larger-than-life heroes or showmanship.

That’s why the second annual AEW Continental Classic is such a big deal. The winner runs a gauntlet of matches against outstanding opponents.

He also wins the Continental championship. Eddie Kingston won the first C2, and he later lost the belt to current champ Kazuchika Okada.

That means that if Okada wants to retain his title, he has to win the entire tournament.

On Christmas Night, the Continental Classic round-robin matches will conclude, and we’ll know who will be in the Final Four at the World’s End pay-per-view on Saturday in Orlando, Fla.

The Gold League winner will face the Blue League runner-up in the semifinals, and vice versa.

Wrestlers earn three points for a win and one for a draw. Let’s take a look at the matches, standings, and possibilities.

GOLD LEAGUE

Ricochet and Claudio Castagnoli are in first place with nine points, so they control their destiny.

Ricochet can reach the semifinals with a win over Darby Allin, while Claudio can clinch a PPV spot if he can beat Komander.

Allin has six points, along with Brody King and Will Ospreay, who will wrestle each other on Wednesday.

All three men need a victory. They also need Ricochet and Claudio to lose to have any chance at the Final Four.

BLUE LEAGUE

Mark Briscoe is tied for first place with nine points, but he’s in a precarious position because he is finished with his matches.

Kyle Fletcher also has nine points, and he can keep a hold on first place with a win or a draw against Daniel Garcia.

Kazuchika Okada and Garcia have seven points, so they need a win to pass Briscoe and move into first or second place.

Okada will face Benjamin, who needs to win and rely on some help to reach the semifinals.

Of course, the big winners are the fans, who will have their stocking stuffed with great matches to wrap up their Christmas Day,
