Wheeler Yuta Doesn’t Backstab Bryan Danielson on AEW Dynamite
Everyone expected Wheeler Yuta to betray AEW World champion Bryan Danielson on last night’s special Tuesday edition of AEW Dynamite.
Yuta was teaming with his mentor, Danielson, against their former Blackpool Combat Club teammates, Claudio Castagnoli & PAC.
Since Yuta still holds the AEW trios title with Claudio & PAC, fans worried that Danielson would “pull a Sting” and walk right into a trap.
Instead, Yuta stuck with “American Dragon,” who won the match by forcing PAC to submit to the LeBell Lock.
Danielson will defend the World title against another former BCC teammate, Jon Moxley, this Saturday at the WrestleDream pay-per-view.
WILLOW BEATS THEM ALL
Willow Nightingale was supposed to wrestle Britt Baker for a title shot at Mariah May at WrestleDream. Baker got sick, so she was replaced by Saraya, Jamie Hayter, and Nyla Rose.
Willow overcame these odds and pinned Saraya to earn the title match.
Mercedes Mone successfully defended her TBS and New Japan Strong women’s titles by defeating Japanese veteran Emi Sakura.
DEAL WITH THE SNAKE
Jake “The Snake” Roberts traded his only wrestler, Lance Archer, to the Don Callis Family. Who did he get in return? La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush, The Beast Mortos, and Dralistico). Not a bad deal!
Hologram made his Dynamite debut and improved his record to 14-0 with a win over fellow high-flier Komander.
“Switchblade” Jay White defeated Cody Chhun before telling everyone he would beat “Hangman” Adam Page on the way to the AEW World title.
Will Ospreay has been a “good guy” for a long time, but he finally made an official break from the Don Callis Family. They beat him up before Ricochet made the save.
Ospreay will defend his International title at WrestleDream in a three-way match against Ricochet and Callis Family member Konosuke Takeshita.
