Way-Too-Early 2025 Super Bowl Favorites
The Kansas City Chiefs have won their second consecutive Super Bowl.
The football season is officially over and sites are on the offseason. Free agency and the 2024 NFL Draft are the next priorities before summer begins. Once rosters are set, teams will once again prepare for the new season. Before any of that begins, there are already rumblings of who could win the 2025 Super Bowl.
Below, check out five way-too-early contenders for next year’s grand prize.
5. Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals kept their heads above water as long as possible this season once Joe Burrow went down with an injury. Next season, Cincinnati has a chance to be favorites in the AFC once again with a healthy quarterback. Tee Higgins might be lost in free agency but Ja’Marr Chase returns and with a healthy Burrow, the Bengals will be back to normal.
4. Buffalo Bills
This was supposed to be the year for Buffalo. Maybe next year? Who knows at this point. Josh Allen continues to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league but this generation of Bills is fitting into the overall history of the franchise. With that being said, this doesn’t discount how good the team can be again next season as it looks to win the AFC East yet again.
3. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens entered the postseason as the top seed in the AFC but came up small offensively in the title game. Lamar Jackson put together an MVP season but could not get his team in the end zone when it mattered most. Baltimore will have an elite defense once again next season, despite the loss of defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald. The Ravens ran into the defending champs this season and saw how difficult it was to take them down. Next season, the Ravens will be ready for what is throw their way.
2. Kansas City Chiefs
Losing Tyreek Hill, lack of weapons. Nothing matters outside of having an all-time great head coach and quarterback. Travis Kelce doesn’t hurt either. At this point, it is just irresponsible not to have the Chiefs as the favorites in the AFC. After being counted out all season, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs rose to the occasion.
Over the last two games, the defense stepped up as well. Kansas City was one of the top defenses in football and came to play in the biggest spots. Steve Spagnuolo will be back next season, along with Reid, Mahomes, and Kelce. Enough said.
1. San Francisco 49ers
This was the second time in five years that the 49ers had a double-digit lead in the Super Bowl over the Chiefs and could not finish. Kyle Shanahan has now been apart of three Super Bowls where he led by 10 or more and lost. Dre Greenlaw will be missed next season after suffering a torn Achilles during the Super Bowl but the Niners have a chance to return with overall talent being at a high. San Francisco might be the favorites in the league next season but will have to prove they can get it done.
