TNF Fantasy Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns will kick off Week 12 action on Thursday night.
There will be plenty of fantasy options heading into this matchup as teams fight for spots in the playoffs. The Steelers have looked like a different offense with Russell Wilson taking over at quarterback. As for the Browns, it has been an ugly campaign but Jameis Winston has made the team entertaining to watch.
Who are some of the top fantasy options on Thursday night, along with some players to avoid?
Start ‘Em
George Picken, WR: Pickens has benefitted from Wilson taking over under center. This is the first time he is playing with a reliable quarterback. Pickens is one of the best ball-ball catchers in the league and knows how to adjust in mid air. He has seen a major uprise in red-zone targets and touches overall.
Russell Wilson, QB: Wilson has become a reliable fantasy quarterback this season. He continues to be a strong deep-ball throw and this has led to multiple-touchdown performances. The Steelers have struggled to move the ball at times but against Cleveland, there will be some plays to be made. Consider Wilson one of the top QBs this week.
David Njoku, TE: A healthy Njoku has emerged as a top-five fantasy tight end this season. Since Winston took over, he has been receiving an abundance of targets and has gotten into the end zone three times. Njoku and Winston have a strong connection and this should continue in this one.
Chris Boswell, K: Boswell has turned into the top fantasy kicker this season for many reasons. First, the Steelers have struggled to get in the end zone on many occasions. This has led to many chances for Boswell. His accuracy has continued to be elite. Just reference the six kicks made last week against the Baltimore Ravens.
Ultimate Sleeper
Pat Freiermuth, TE: Freiermuth has not put up the same numbers since Wilson took over under center but has a chance to break out against a Browns defense that ignores the tight end at times. Do not be surprised if Freiermuth can find the end zone on Thursday night.
Sit ‘Em
Jameis Winston, QB: Winston has made the Browns offense watchable this season after an ugly start but it is still not the perfect product. The Browns will be able to move the ball against lesser defenses but against this pass rush of the Steelers, Winston might struggle and this leads to turnovers.
Jaylen Warren, RB: Pittsburgh has been using Harris more this season but either way, the Pittsburgh backfield is not one to watch here. This is a heavy bye week in fantasy so if you want to insert Warren as a last-minute, PPR option, then give it a go but do not use him as a primary back if you need a high score.
Jerry Jeudy, WR: Jeudy broke off a long touchdown catch last week that aided in his biggest performance of the season. Against Joey Porter Jr. and the Steeler secondary, there will not be much room to operate.
