TNF Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions

The Thursday Night Football matchup is a good one this week out of the NFC North.

The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions will square off with major postseason implications on the line. Two of the powers in the NFC will look to put on a show in the first game of the week.

This is the final week of the fantasy football regular season as well. Teams will look to solidify their spots in the postseason and these moves might help.

First, it goes without saying that these players are must starts across the board — Amon-Ra St. Brown, Josh Jacobs, Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery.

Start ‘Em

Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers: Kraft has been one of the top tight ends in fantasy in recent weeks. The Packers have been making their tight end a major part of the offense and that could continue this week against a Lions’ defense that is vulnerable against the pass. Green Bay will be able to get Kraft involved early in this contest.

Jameson Williams, Detroit Lions: St. Brown is the major weapon for the Lions but Ben Johnson knows how to spread the ball around. Williams is a big-play threat that can rack up yards in bunches. The ball will be in the air a lot on Thursday night and Williams could be one of the beneficiaries.

Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers: Reed has taken over as the No. 1 receiver on the outside for Green Bay. When the ball has been through the air, Reed has been the target. He has not played as many snaps as other wideouts but has been used at a high rate when he is in there. Reed is the most likely starter for Green Bay.

Sit ‘Em

Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions: LaPorta was an elite tight end last season but has taken steps back. His role has diminished recently and owners could be relying on touchdowns. Just look at his performance last week. LaPorta had just six yards total but scored two touchdowns from one yard out. That is a hard trend to continue.

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers: Can Love throw enough touchdowns to make him worth a start? This is the final week of the fantasy season and it would be frustrating to see touchdowns taken away. That could be the case as Jacobs gets the goal-line carries. Love will throw for many yards but touchdowns are what brings victories.

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers: Watson has been in there 89% of the time for the offense but has been nothing more than a deep-ball threat. His targets are not high enough to trust him as a starter in this contest.
