Earth to Stefanski: your quarterback cannot throw!
Everyone in the NFL except for Kevin Stefanski and Deshaun Watson realizes that the Browns QB cannot throw a football at NFL standards. Earth to Stefanski! Come in Stefanski! Can you read us Stefanski? This is Planet Earth calling!
Even in five passes, the Franchise threw a pick, bounced a short pass that your grandmother could have completed, was wild on another one and should have been picked off a second time. One for five, one INT, passer rating of 0.0. The ball wobbles as it comes off his hand. Yes, it is a small data sample but it looks horrid.
This writer understands nuclear reactors and rocket propulsion but is not a medical expert. Nevertheless, it does not take a rocket scientist to observe that Watson is not able to throw a decent NFL ball. We can thank Tom Pelissero for giving us some more polite language to describe Watson’s injury, other than he can’t throw for squat. Watson has a strain in the subscapularis muscle which causes pain and weakness in the rotator cuff. Probably getting creamed in a football game versus Indianapolis did not speed his recovery, unless you are Kevin Stefanski. Watson came up holding his shoulder and grimacing, and did not throw on the sidelines. That did not look like a step forward in the recovery process, sir. It looked like a step backwards.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter notes that baseball players normally take four to six weeks to recover from this type of injury. If you get hammered by a 300 pound professional quarterback assassin, it probably adds time to the recovery process rather than shortening it.
As mentioned here, Deshaun Watson has a strain in his subscapularis muscle, which causes pain and weakness in the rotator cuff. It’s a real injury that takes time to heal; Watson was injured one month ago today vs. Tennessee. https://t.co/40RbGLLJ6I

Naturally, there has been some speculation that Watson may not be that anxious to play, given that his contract is fully guaranteed. That is impossible to judge. However, we can say that the results in Indianapolis were awful. He should not have embarrassed himself under those conditions.
Do you want him to rush back and start against Seattle? Will that aid the healing process?
