Cavs Sting the Hornets, 116-102

On Saturday December 7th the 20-3 Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to Charlotte North Carolina to play the 6-16 Charlotte Hornets at the Spectrum Center. Cleveland’s last game was a win at home against the Denver Nuggets 126-114 last Thursday. The Hornets last game was also last Thursday, and it was a road loss to the New York Knicks 125-101. Out for the Cavaliers was Max Strus, Isacc Okoro, Emoni Bates, and Terry Porter jr. The Hornets were missing LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges, and Tre Mann for the game. The Cavaliers were going for their 21st win of the season and tried to keep their top seed in the Eastern Conference.

The first quarter of the game was owned by the Cavaliers Evan Mobley scoring 21 points in 9 minutes to start the game. After the first quarter the Cavaliers led the Hornets by a score of 40-18. The Hornets stormed back in the second quarter to cut the Cavaliers lead down to 8 points. But at halftime the Cavaliers led the Hornets 63-52. The Hornets outscored the Cavaliers in the third quarter 31-30, but the Cavaliers led at the end of three quarters of play 93-83. In the fourth quarter the Hornets closed in on the Cavaliers lead by 4 points. But the Cavaliers pulled away to win the game 116-102.

The Cavaliers’ leading score was Evan Mobley with a whopping 41 points and 10 rebounds in 34 minutes of play. Jarrett Allen also had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes. The Cavaliers next game is Sunday December 8th at 6pm eastern time, the 21-3 Cleveland Cavaliers travel to Miami Florida to play the 10-10 Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center. The Cavaliers will be going for a weekend road trip sweep. After that they have five days until their next scheduled game. It would be well deserved rest for this team.
