Cavs roll past Suns, 118-92

On Monday January 20th at 3:30 pm eastern time, the 35-6 Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the 21-20 Phoenix Suns at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in downtown Cleveland Ohio. The Cavaliers last game was a 124-117 win at Minnesota over the Timberwolves last Saturday. The last game for the Suns was a 125-121 win at Detroit over the Pistons last Saturday as well. For the Cavaliers both Isaac Okoro and Evan Mobley were listed as questionable, both Mobley and Okoro did not play in this game. Questionable for the Suns was Jusuf Nurkic and Bradley Beal. Beal played but Nurkic did not. This was a holiday matinee feature game for the NBA’s best record holding Cleveland Cavaliers.

The game started as a close contest and after the first quarter the game was tied 27-27. In the second quarter the Cavaliers began to pull away from the Suns and led at halftime by a score of 59-46. In the third quarter the Cavaliers added to their lead, and they went into the fourth quarter leading the Suns by a score of 93-70. In the fourth and final quarter, the Cavaliers kept up the pace over the Suns. And the Cleveland Cavilers went on to win their 36th game of the season against the Phoenix Suns by a score of 118-92.

The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Donovan Mitchell with 33 points in 30 minutes. Jarett Allen had another double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in 22 minutes of play. The next game for the 36-6 Cleveland Cavaliers is a road game on Wednesday January 22nd at 8 pm eastern time, at the 28-14 Houston Rockets, in the Toyota Center. Houston is currently the second-best team in the Western Conference. This game will be another big test for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and it is a test I expect them to pass with flying colors.
