Cavs Keep Rolling, Defeat Knicks 110-104
On Monday the Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to world’s most famous arena Madison Square Garden in New York City to play the New York Knicks. The Knicks Have a 1-1 record while the Cavaliers were 3-0 going into this game. The New York Knicks are considered an Eastern Conference contender, and this game will be the first major test for this Cavaliers team. It was a challenge that was answered by Cleveland.
The games started with the expected intensity with a playoff like atmosphere. The Cavaliers were able to match that and lead after the first quarter 22-18. The Knicks however made their own run in the second quarter to storm ahead of Cleveland at halftime 52-45. The third quarter did continue with the New York momentum, and they were leading after the 3 quarters 78-74. But the 4th and final quarter belonged to the Cleveland Cavaliers when they outscored the New York Knick 36-26. The Cleveland Cavaliers passed their first major test of the season by beating the New York Knicks 110-104 in New York. What was most impressive about this win was the overall team effort in this victory.
Both guards Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland combined for 59 points. Mitchell had 25 points and Garland had 34 points. Center Jarrett Allen had another double -double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Evan Mobley had 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots. The Cavaliers are now 4-0 this season and they have another test coming up Wednesday night.
On Wednesday the Cavaliers will host the Los Angeles Lakers. Lebron James and his son Bronny James will have their homecoming right before Halloween. For this game, will the Cleveland Cavaliers give their fans a trick or a treat.? We will have to wait and see what happens.
