Cavs Defeat Warriors on the Road, 113-95
On Monday December 30th at 10 pm eastern time, the 27-4 Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to San Francisco California to play the 16-15 Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center. The Cavaliers last game was a 149-135 win at Denver over the Nuggets last Friday. The Warriors last game was a 109-105 home win against the Phoenix Suns last Saturday. Out for the Cavaliers were Isaac Okoro and Emoni Bates. The Warriors were without Gary Payton II and Brandin Podziemski for the game. This was the second game of a four-game west coast trip for the Cavaliers. They were trying to win their NBA best 28th win of the 2024/2025 season.
The game started as a back-and-forth contest and at the end of the first quarter the Warriors led the Cavaliers 27-26. The Cavaliers defense clamped down on the Warriors in the second quarter, holding Golden State to just 11 second quarter points. At halftime the Cleveland Cavaliers led the Golden State Warriors 46-38. In the third quarter the Cavaliers continued to pull away from the Warriors by outscoring them 37-27. Going into the fourth and final quarter the Cavaliers expanded their lead to 83-65. In the fourth quarter Cleveland kept the pace with Golden State and coasted to a 113-95 win. This is their 28th win of the season.
The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Darius Garland with 25 points in 29 minutes. Dean Wade earned a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds in 25 minutes of play. The Cavaliers had 5 players with double digits in scoring. It was another team win for Cleveland. Up next for the 28-4 Cavaliers is a New Years Eve trip to Los Angeles to play Lebron James and the 18-13 Lakers, at 9 pm eastern time, at the Crypto.com Arena. This will be the third game of the four-game west coast trip. If this team continues its trajectory. It will be a Happy New Year for Cavs fans.
