Keys To The Game: Jaguars Tangled with Titans — Again

With the final game at EverBank Stadium in 2024 on the horizon, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans are both three-win teams in a five-way tie for the bottom of the American Conference. This game with have reverberations heading into the 2025 NFL draft. To think both fan bases were thumping their chests in the preseason about competing for the AFC South title. It seems they are now both coming out of the other end of that tunnel of delusion. Here are three keys to the game that form the draft fate of these teams.

Rudolph, the Starting QB

You may know Dasher and Dancer and Pancer and Vixen, but it’s hard to think that even flying reindeer can help the Titans quarterback situation. Sure, Mason Rudolph has scored more than six points in a football game as starter Will Levis did last time they played the Jags, but he also has a greater tendency to turn the ball over than Levis.

That being said, look for a potentially big game for the Jaguars defense even with all the injuries in the secondary. Rookie Jarrian Jones might even record an interception further uplifting all the rookie contributors on that roster.

How Many Points Will Cam Little Get

I didn’t expect to be writing this much about a rookie placekicker this year, but here we are. With Mac Jones starting at the quarterback position for an injured Trevor Lawrence, it’ll fall on Cam Little to boot in points with his legs knocking down field goals. Little has yet to miss a field goal attempt in the NFL from inside of 40 yards.

Calvin Ridley Revenge Game — Part Deux

Remember how much we tried to hype up the “Calvin Ridley Revenge Factor” the first time these teams played? Remember it also being suggested that it is just as likely to not matter if Ridley shys away from the moment?

While I do expect the Titans to score more than six points this time, Tennessee will also need a touchdown from him to score more than 20. 20 is a good number to ensure they beat the Jaguars because that would match two touchdowns from wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. and two field goals from Little. Two touchdowns is what BTJ has averaged in the past two games while Little has averaged two field goals in that same span.
