The BCC Strikes Back: Jon Moxley Ends Bryan Danielson’s Career

Bryan Danielson’s “WrestleDream” came to an end last night.

Jon Moxley ended Danielson’s AEW World title reign and his full-time wrestling career on Saturday night’s pay-per-view from Tacoma, Wash.

Moxley, who won the WWE title as Dean Ambrose in 2016, now holds the record with four AEW World title reigns.

Referee Bryce Remsberg stopped the match when Mox had “The American Dragon” in a sleeper hold.

Remember when I wrote that Wheeler Yuta did not turn against Danielson on Dynamite? Well, he did it at WrestleDream.

Yuta joined the rest of Blackpool Combat Club in attacking the fallen champion. Maybe he was salty about Danielson leading the fans in a “YES!” chant while he was writhing on the mat in pain during their tag team match.

INTERNATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Konosuke Takeshita finally got the big win he needed. He captured the AEW International title in a three-way against Ricochet and previous champion Will Ospreay.

“The Glamour” Mariah May continued her dominant run as AEW women’s champion. She beat Willow Nightingale with the Storm Zero piledriver.

The Young Bucks hung onto the AEW tag team title with a win over Private Party. The Bucks avenged an upset loss to Zay & Quen from five years ago in the tournament to crown the first champions.

“Switchblade” Jay White re-established himself as a World title contender by defeating former champ “Hangman” Adam Page in the opener.

WELCOME BACK … EVERYONE

Swerve Strickland showed up for the first time since All Out. He decided to stick with Prince Nana instead of joining MVP and Shelton Benjamin.

After TNT champion Jack Perry’s win over Katsuyori Shibata, Daniel Garcia came to ringside to confront Perry. Garcia recently decided to stay in AEW instead of jumping to WWE.

Then MJF came out to continue his feud with Garcia. MJF has been shooting the sequel to “Happy Gilmore,” in which he plays the son of Adam Sandler’s character.

Then Adam Cole (bay-bay!) emerged to confront MJF. The fans gave Cole a warm welcome, even though he was a bad guy the last time we saw him.

Hologram continued his unbeaten streak, defeating The Beast Mortos two falls to one.

Darby Allin scored a hometown win over Brody King. Mark Briscoe retained the Ring Of Honor title by defeating Chris Jericho.

ZERO HOUR

“The Machine” Brian Cage won the Ring Of Honor TV title from Atlantis Jr. to kick off the Zero Hour pre-show action.

Anna Jay continued her resurgence after a trip to Japan with a win over Harley Cameron.

The Acclaimed (with Billy Gunn) beat MxM Collection, who had Gunn’s former manager Rico to their corner.

The Outrunners teamed with Orange Cassidy & Kyle O’Reilly to beat The Premier Athletes and The Dark Order.

This Wednesday on Dynamite, Mercedes Mone will defend her TBS title against Queen Aminata.
