The Dash got off to a great start in their last series of the season, taking the first two games behind fantastic pitching performances. However, they let the last three slip away to Greenville (63-69), thus Winston-Salem finished the season 12 games below .500. The Dash did not make the playoffs, so this was their final action of the year.

The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers came out on top in Game 1 of the MiLB Single-A Division Series. Timely offense and solid pitching combined to earn the victory.

In the process, the team finally got its head above water for the second half and maybe, just maybe, could reach .500 for the full season. Aaron McGarity sang, Devi García continued as a killer mini-starter, and Carlos Pérez remained a valuable backstop stopgap.
