White Sox win, 9-5, closing the door on a historic season

The Chicago White Sox win 5 of their last 6 games while also breaking the all-time losing record as they finally end a season to forget.

Winston-Salem Dash 2024 season review

The Winston-Salem Dash finished with a subpar 60-72 record and a -139 run differential, although Winston-Salem’s Pythagorean record (53-79) makes the team’s final record appear much more appealing by comparison. For most of the season, Winston-Salem was below .500 but remained within striking distance of that mark. Finally, a cold streak in August put the Dash solidly below .500, and of course, they did not make the playoffs.

2024 ACL White Sox Season Review

But all told, this probably wasn’t the worst team in Arizona rookie ball, as three clubs sported a worse run differential than Chicago’s -44, and the Complex Sox actually played 15-13 ball against ACL teams with a winning record.

This Week in Charlotte Knights Baseball: September 19-22, 2024

Charlotte was too unsteady in every aspect of the game to advance into the first division of a very large division/league. While the White Sox have their top prospects arbitrarily bypass their Triple-A affiliate as often as not, it remains a serious indictment that the club cannot pool enough talent at this level to field a competitive team. We can get chuffed over becoming a better-rated system all we want, but consistently failing to run out a legitimate four-, five- or six-man rotation on the team at the doorstep of the majors prevents any serious estimation of this organization.

2024 DSL White Sox season review

The DSL Sox finished seventh in the eight-team DSL Central, with a 20-35 record. That made them the ninth-worst team in the league. Worth repeating: The White Sox have one team in the league, thus the talent they have on their roster is not watered-down and split into two squads, and still are consistently terrible. It’s an indictment of the international scouting by the White Sox, period.
