This Week in Winston-Salem Dash Baseball (August 28-September 3)
The Dash broke even this week, grinding out three wins in six games. Of those three wins, two were thrilling walk-off victories, while the other was a convincing win that was spearheaded by an outstanding pitching performance. Ryan Galanie slashed .462/.563/.769 during this stretch, while Shane Murphy and Aldrin Batista led the way among pitchers.
White Sox 8, Orioles 1: Jonathan Cannon Blasts Baltimore
Chicago snaps their 12-game losing streak, taking down AL East first-place Baltimore. Rookie Jonathan Cannon earns his third big league win while the offense blasts three dingers.
This Week In Birmingham Barons Baseball: August 27-September 1, 2024
The Birmingham Barons won four of six games in the final August series against the Chattanooga Lookouts, mostly thanks to the Barons pitching staff.
White Sox Minor League Player of the Month (August 2024): Noah Schultz
The Barons led the way in August, finishing 15-12, the only winning month in the system. Although there were several strong individual performances, it should be no surprise that Barons starter Noah Schultz is August’s Player of the Month. Surprisingly, despite how good Schultz has been, this is his first monthly honor of the season, but he is on the board now.
White Sox Minor League Player of the Week (August 26-September 1): Jeral Pérez
The Barons and Cannon Ballers both won their series this week, getting back to their winning ways of the first half. Even the Knights and Dash had their good moments this week, with Carlos Pérez and Shane Murphy being about as dominant as they could have been.
