Who gets the game ball for the Steelers 27-14 win over the Browns in Week 14?
The Pittsburgh Steelers have back-to-back wins and pushed their record to 10-3 by getting another AFC North win by defeating the Browns in Pittsburgh. This time it was the efforts of many to bring home the win.
But who gets the game ball?
Each win for the Steelers this season, I will set forth nominations to receive the SCN game ball. It does not necessarily have to be the best player on the field, but who really stepped up their game this particular week. After the case has been made, you all decide which player takes home the honor.
Previous Game Ball winners from the 2024 season include:
Week 1: Chris Boswell (92%)
Week 2: Cory Trice (28%)
Week 3: Justin Fields (69%)
Week 6: T.J. Watt (49%)
Week 7: Beanie Bishop (57%)
Week 8: Calvin Austin (79%)
Week 10: Cam Heyward (32%)
Week 11: Chris Boswell (66%)
Week 13: Russell Wilson (91%)
I will remind everyone of the rules that it is individual players who will be in the running. Although it could be applicable, it will not be either position groups or coaches who are eligible for this designation as they are more in line for Jeff Hartman’s Winners and Losers article.
So here are the nominations in no particular order:
Chris Boswell
In a game when their opponent missed two field goals, Chris Boswell came through solid again making both of his attempts, including a 54 yarder.
Mike Wiliams
With only one target in aSteelers uniform coming into this game, Williams was one player who stepped up in the absence of George Pickens as he brought in three catches for 36 yards on four targets.
Cam Heyward
It seems like Cam Hayward is in the mix every week. This time Hayward added 2.0 sacks and five tackles.
Scotty Miller
Looking like he wouldn’t even be active again for the Steelers, Scotty Miller was another one who stepped up in the absence of George Pickens and pulled in three catches for 38 yards including an impressive sideline catch late in the game.
Patrick Queen
With 10 tackles in the game, Patrick Queen also had a key pass breakup as well.
Jaylen Warren
It seemed like the Browns had problem stopping Warren on the day. With 47 rushing yards and only nine carries for a 5.2 yard average, Warren also added two receptions for 25 yards.
DeShon Elliott
Speaking of players with a lot of tackles and a key pass breakup, DeShon Elliott led the defense with 13 tackles. Additionally, he was involved with key pass defense moments in the game.
So what do you think? Who deserves the game ball for the Steelers this week? Make sure you vote in the poll as this is how the winner will be determined. As a bonus, you can even add another choice if you think someone other than these five should get the honor (and no cheating on the rules or it will be removed). And of course, feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below.
