The Pittsburgh Steelers Got Their Tackle
With the 20th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft the Steelers selected Tackle Troy Fautanu. With 6 QBs getting drafted in the first 12 picks there were going to be at least 3-4 players the Steelers liked waiting for them at pick 20. Fautanu was one ranked as one of the top Tackles in this draft and he was simply too good, and had too much value at pick 20 for Pittsburgh to pass up. He’s got that versatility that can play inside or out, but most importantly is a guy who can be a bookend on the right side and allow Broderick Jones to go to left side. They could also keep Jones at Right and put Troy at left, but either way they now have two monsters protecting the ends of the line.
Fautanu is a beast when it comes to run blocking, and is great in pass protection as well. He immediately makes this line that much stronger and can come in and start right away. For a guy being ranked as high as the 15th best player overall, the 3rd ranked tackle, getting him at 20 was simply just too good for the Steelers to pass on when they were on the clock. Like Tomlin said “Just turn on the tape”.

The power that new #Steelers OL Troy Fautanu has in his hands is impressive.
Look at the punch here in the run game in the red zone. Creates serious displacement right at the snap. pic.twitter.com/LSTT7b8fZq

Looking at new #Steelers OL Troy Fautanu from a run-blocking perspective for a film room. This isn't technically the run game, but his athleticism in space and his power is eye-popping.
Arthur Smith should have quite a bit of fun with him in his scheme. pic.twitter.com/xjUhplSlxl
