T.J. Watt limited in Steelers practice on Wednesday
The Pittsburgh Steelers are moving along through the 2024 NFL season and are back on the road with a chance to lock up the AFC North on a slightly shortened week. As the Steelers took the practice field for their first day with a required injury report in preparation for the Ravens, albeit just another walk through, there were six players who did not participate while twowere limited. In the second injury report of the week courtesy of the Steelers PR Department, only one new name appears on the list.

No. 97 DT Cameron Heyward (NIR – Resting Vet) – DNP
No. 99 DT Larry Ogunjobi (Groin) – LimitedPittsburgh held a walkthrough on Wednesday
One player who has been missed the last two games is wide receiver George Pickens who is dealing with a hamstring injury. It is not surprising to see Pickens did not participate in practice on Tuesday with it being just a walkthrough, but it was encouraging to see Pickens working out on the side a practice. While Pickens still did some individual drills on Wednesday, he was once again listed as not participating.
Two players who also missed the previous game who are trying to work their way back were Larry Ogunjobi with a groin injury and DeShon Elliott with a hamstring injury. On Tuesday, Elliott did not practice while Ogunjobi was a limited participant. Wednesday’s walkthrough brought the same designations as Elliott did not practice while Ogunjobi was a limited participant.
The Steelers had three players who left last Sunday’s game with injury that are hoping to make it back for Saturday’s game. T.J. Watt is dealing with a low ankle sprain and did not practice on Tuesday, but he had been a player who has been held out early in the week for several games which makes his lack of participation on Tuesday tough to draw any conclusions. On Wednesday Watt progressed to be a limited participant. Cornerback Donte Jackson is dealing with a pinched nerve in his back and did not participate in Tuesday’s walkthrough. Justin Fields also missed Tuesday’s practice with an abdominal injury. Neither Elliott nor Fields practiced on Wednesday as well.
The other two names on the Steelers injury report Tuesday were players who missed time due to rest and were not injury related. Those players were linebacker Patrick Queen, and defensive tackle Cam Heyward. On Wednesday Queen returned to practice but linebacker Elandon Roberts was added to the report for getting rest. Heard was given another day off on Wednesday as well.
