T.J. Watt fined heavily after Steelers Week 5 win
The Pittsburgh Steelers are enjoying their bye week, but one member of the team might not be enjoying it a little less after the NFL handed out fines from Week 5.
That would be one T.J. Watt, who was fined for two separate infractions last Sunday at Acrisure Stadium. One of the two situations was flagged by officiating, while the other wasn’t. Watt was fined $13,659 for taking his helmet off after his game sealing sack of Lamar Jackson, which was flagged. He was also fined $11,473 for the play which saw Watt punch Zay Flowers, which wasn’t flagged in-game.
This per Nick Farabaugh of Steelers Now:
The NFL fined T.J. Watt twice this week.
They fined him $13,659 for taking his helmet off after the game clinching sack.
Then, they fined him $11,473 for the viral play where Watt ends up punching Zay Flowers.

Watt likely knew he would get the fine for removing his helmet, but he probably didn’t foresee a find coming his way for his punch of Flowers. After all, he was trying to dislodge the ball, but Flowers dropped said pass.
Nonetheless, Watt might be lighter in the wallet, but I don’t feel the team is complaining much after the current tear he is on. Watt has registered more sacks (8) than some NFL teams have for their entire roster.
Be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare for the rest of the bye and get ready for the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7.
