T.J. Watt being evaluated, reports are positive after Steelers win
The Pittsburgh Steelers were victorious in their regular season finale, beating the Baltimore Raven 17-10 at M&T Bank Stadium, but it came at a cost. The cost was the injury to T.J. Watt. His knee injury, which occurred when Montravius Adams accidentally fell into him, looked bad upon replay. After he left the game, he was immediately ruled out by the Steelers PR team.
After the game, Mike Tomlin said Watt’s injury will need to be further evaluated, and couldn’t add anything to it at that time. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the injury to Watt is a sprained MCL.
Steelers believe Defensive-Player-of-the-Year candidate T.J. Watt suffered a sprained MCL vs. the Ravens pending further testing, per source. Watt wanted to go back into the game with the injury, but the Steelers wouldn’t allow it. pic.twitter.com/twXXW9h1Tg

While you never want to see a player suffer an injury, if Watt only suffered a sprained MCL the team should consider themselves lucky as a torn ligament could not just have ended his season if the Steelers make the postseason, but hindered his preparation for next season.
If the Steelers make the playoffs, and that’s a big if at this juncture, it is unknown whether or not he’ll be able to play in the game. In the meantime, be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they hope for the best on Sunday in Week 18 and they get the help necessary to punch their ticket into the AFC Playoffs.
