Steelers vs. Seahawks Picks: See who the SCN staff is predicting to win
IT’S GAME DAY!!
That means while we all wait for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks to kickoff at 4:05pm EST in Week 17 on Sunday, it’s time to take a look at who the SCN staff likes in this game. The current line for the game is PIT (+3.5) with a Total of 41.
But these picks are vs. the spread, or based on an over/under. These are straight up picks. So, let’s get to the prognostications…
Jeff Hartman
The Steelers going to Seattle never seems to go well, but for some reason this game feels different. No, it isn’t just because of the Week 16 game vs. the Bengals where the Steelers had their best offensive output of the season. No, this has as much to do about the Seahawks than anything else. The Seattle offense can be lethal, but Geno Smith can also become a human pinata if the line doesn’t protect him. Meanwhile, the Seattle defense has had issues stopping the run. Oh, and Devin Bush might be seeing significant snaps this week. If the Steelers pass rush can get home, I like the Steelers to win this game and head into Week 18 facing a win-and-in situation.
Prediction: Steelers 27, Seahawks 21

The Steelers put up the most points they’ve seen in a long time last week. But in order for it to be a pattern, they need to do it at least twice in a row. It’s tough to play in Seattle and they are a formidable opponent. This game could go either way, so I’m picking the way I want it to go with it where the Steelers continue on a roll and have everything come down to the last week of the season.
Prediction: Steelers 27, Seahawks 17

Terry Bradshaw never won in Seattle. Ben Roethlisberger never won in Seattle. You know who did? Cliff Stoudt in a game played 40 years ago. The Steelers are hurting, but so are the Seahawks. With both teams playing for their postseason lives, I’m going with the squad with the kid from Oklahoma State at quarterback.
Prediction: Steelers 37, Seahawks 27

Mason Rudolph and the Steelers proved me wrong last week, as I predicted them to lose. Hopefully they can do it again, because I am picking them to lose again. The Steelers matchup very well with the Bengals, regardless of the QB. Not so much with the Seahawks, on either side of the ball. The Steelers desperately need to win, but the Seattle curse maybe too much to overcome, seeing how the Steelers are 1-7 all time playing there. Come on, Steelers. Prove me wrong once again.
Prediction: Seahawks 21, Steelers 17

I’m not falling for it again. After the Steelers had 400+ yards of offense in their first game against Cincinnati I felt they had a formula for success, only to be disappointed by extremely sub-par play the next three weeks. Now the Steelers are coming off their first 30+ point game of the season and people are again very optimistic about the team finishing out the season. I will not be fooled a second time, as the Steelers have to travel across the country and play in a tough location in Seattle. Would love to see the Steelers win this game and keep their playoff hopes alive, but I always pick these games more like the way I’d bet the games. Too much working against the Steelers in this one.
Prediction: Seahawks 24, Steelers 17

I don’t care about any of the stats or analytics or injuries or who’s playing quarterback or linebacker or safety or where the game is or Seattle’s fans or how long it’s been since the Steelers won there or what phase the moon is in or who killed JFK. Not that all of that has anything to do with this game. It’s time to double down on the Steelers. If I’m wrong, so be it. But there’s no option from here on out but to win. Go Steelers.
Prediction: Steelers 24, Seahawks 20
