Steelers vs. Packers Picks: See who the SCN staff is predicting to win
IT’S GAME DAY!!
That means while we all wait for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers to kickoff at 1:00pm EST in Week 10 on Sunday, it’s time to take a look at who the SCN staff likes in this game. The current line for the game is PIT (-3.5) with a Total of 39.
But these picks are vs. the spread, or based on an over/under. These are straight up picks. So, let’s get to the prognostications.
Jeff Hartman
The Steelers haven’t had much success on the offensive side of the ball this season, but there is something about this game which has me thinking the team sees some success vs. the Green Bay defense. I’m thinking this is a ground-and-pound game, and the Pittsburgh pass rush harrasses Jordan Love into some turnovers. I actually think the Steelers score 4 TDs in this game. A late Green Bay TD makes this looks closer than it really was.
Prediction: Steelers 28, Packers 20
Dave Schofield
One thing Steelers fans haven’t been blessed with this season is a decisive victory. While this team might not be built to give fans a “ non-coronary” game very often, I just have the feeling this week will be one of the few times we all get a reprieve.
Prediction: Steelers 27, Packers 13

Is this finally it? The game where the Steelers dominate an inferior opponent? Or is this a classic Mike Tomlin trap game with back-to-back division matchups the following 2 weeks? The answer probably lies somewhere in the middle for a middling team still trying to find itself on both sides of the ball. The good news is, the Packers are bad. I see the Steelers winning a “harder than it needed to be” game at home to get to 6-3.
Prediction: Steelers 23, Packers 18

Do I think the Steelers will defeat this inferior opponent? Inferior opponent? When talking about the 2023 Steelers? To quote my 11-grade geometry teacher when he was asked about extra credit: There’s no such creature. Having said that, I do think the Steelers will find a way to win another close and ugly game. Kenny Pickett will look decent early, and the Steelers will hold on late this time.
Prediction: Steelers 17, Packers 13
Shannon White
The Steelers have been consistently inconsistent this season. One recurring trend has been to lose one, win two. Guess what the Steelers need to do on Sunday to keep the streak alive. You guessed it. Just win, baby. Home field advantage, throwback uniforms, must win game to keep pace in the toughest division in the NFL. I have no idea what this team is going to do on a week to week basis. So I am sticking to the trends, and my Pump Your Brakes podcast prediction.
Prediction: Steelers 24, Packers 13
Bradley Locker
Despite having 10 days to heal up, the Steelers’ defense will still be a little shorthanded with no Minkah Fitzpatrick and Montravius Adams, plus will need to adjust to life without Cole Holcomb up the middle. Nonetheless, I think this matchup is favorable for Pittsburgh. The Packers have largely looked out of sorts for the entire year, ranking just 22nd in DVOA. With Jaire Alexander and Quay Walker likely out, I think Pittsburgh’s offense gets enough contributions from key playmakers — especially keep an eye on George Pickens — and gets turnovers of Jordan Love to prevail.
Prediction: Steelers 21, Packers 13

This isn’t really a must-win game for the Steelers, but if you really look at things it’s more of a can’t lose game. The Steelers have no business losing to the Green Bay Packers if they want to remain a serious contender for the playoffs. Not being said what we could probably expect to see is the Steelers come out play flat and it end up in a close game. I’m going to predict the Steelers pull this one out in the fourth quarter again and win by a few.
Prediction: Steelers 23, Packers 17

Pittsburgh looked better on offense last Thursday night against Tennessee, and may have found their run game again. That was a recipe for success down the stretch last season. Hopefully it will be this year as well. Meanwhile, the Packers seem as lost on offense as the Steelers often do, but they’re not as good on defense. Should add up to a Steelers win on Sunday.
Prediction: Steelers 24, Packers 16
