Steelers vs. Giants Picks: See who the SCN staff is predicting to win
IT’S GAME DAY!!
That means while we all wait for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants to kickoff at 8:15pm EST in Week on Sunday, it’s time to take a look at who the SCN staff likes in this game. The current line for the game is PIT (-6) with a Total of 36.5.
But these picks are vs. the spread, or based on an over/under. These are straight up picks. So, let’s get to the prognostications…
Jeff Hartman
The Steelers have a lot on the line in this game, especially with how things broke down in the division Sunday. A win would propel them into first place in the division as they prepare for their gauntlet after their Week 9 bye. Nonetheless, the Steelers still need to advance to 6-2, which I see them doing against a lesser-than Giants team. The Giants might hang around longer than most would like or expect, but I see the Steelers making enough plays to win at home and keep their home Monday Night Football streak alive and well for another eyar.
Prediction: Steelers 27, Giants 13

Since I made this prediction on The Steelers Preview, I dove more into the numbers which actually are quite concerning. While the Giants have been bad this season, their terrible games have been at home (0-4) scoring no more than 15 points with three being in the single digits. But on the road the Giants are 2-1 with their only loss in Washington where they lost their kicker which cost them many more points than what they lost by. They also scored at least 18 points in each game on the road, which would have been over 20 each game if not for the previously mentioned kicker issue. But I’m sticking with my original prediction, as much as anything because that predicted score last week brought a good performance.
Prediction: Steelers 27, Giants 10

Pittsburgh is heavily favored this week against what should be an overmatched Giants team, but Mike Tomlin’s history in such scenarios probably means this game is much closer that it should be in the final quarter. Overall, I think the Steelers talent wins out, sending the Steelers to 6-2 heading into their much needed bye week. Bold Prediction: Minkah snags his 1st INT since Week 17 of 2022.
Prediction: Steelers 24, Giants 20
Anthony Defeo
The notion that this matchup vs. the Giants could be a typical Tomlin game or a trap game or whatever is laughable in this era. These Steelers aren’t in a position to overlook anyone. Plus, all the preparation in the world isn’t necessarily going to lead to a thorough win. Steelers fans need to come to grips with the reality that these modern Steelers are well past the second Super Bowl era. There are a few great teams and a few bad ones. The rest are in a group where most games will be decided by literally a handful of plays more often than not. The Steelers are in that group and have been for quite a while. The Giants may be bad, but they can still beat this Pittsburgh team. That said, the Steelers are awesome at home on MNF.
Prediction: Steelers 20, Giants 10

This is a game where the Steelers need to take care of business. They are the better football team, they are playing at home, and playing in prime time where they typically thrive. This is also the reason why this game scares me a bit. This would be the type of game for the Steelers to overlook as they prepare to go into their bye week. My hope is that the veterans present on the team will do their best to have everyone ready to go, and the Steelers do what they need to and win this game.
Prediction: Steelers 28, Giants 10

The Pittsburgh Steelers offense is starting to look sharper, and the defense continues to play up to its capabilities. The New York Giants are strong up front defensively, and an abysmal mess on offense. The PIT offense will neutralize Dexter Lawrence, and I think Jaylen Warren has a big day. On defense, TJ Watt very well could have 4 sacks. I wouldn’t bet that, but I WOULD bet him to get one in each half of the game (+650 on DraftKings, if you’re interested). This game will look like an old school, ‘choke the air out of the ball’ type of game that would make Bill Cowher proud. The defense absolutely dominates the weak Giants offense, and the Steelers go into the bye at 6-2.
Prediction: Steelers 27, Giants 12
Jason Murphy
Last week, the Steelers showed that they can overcome a shaky start to dominate a game, breaking a trend several years long. A Russell Wilson led offense full of enthusiasm should break another trend of dropping a game against a struggling opponent. There may be some more rust and timing to work out early on, but I look for this team to put down a statement heading into the bye week, and pull away as the game goes on. The defense will be giving short fields and now they have an offense that can convert that into touchdowns.
Prediction: Steelers 33, Giants 10
Sadie Hubler
This is a game that the Steelers should maintain control of throughout. Pittsburgh is coming off of the two best offensive performances of the year in terms of points per game with an elite defense that is facing a struggling Giants squad. With another week of practice under his belt with the starters, Russell Wilson should be settled in more than he was at the start of last week. I think the Giants are able to get Wilson on the ground multiple times in this contest with 2 sacks on the day, but Pittsburgh should have a big day nonetheless. The Steelers are all over the Giants in this one.
Prediction: Steelers 31, Giants 14
