Steelers vs. Colts Picks: See who the SCN staff is predicting to win
IT’S GAME DAY!!
That means while we all wait for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts to kickoff at 4:30pm EST in Week 15 on Saturday, it’s time to take a look at who the SCN staff likes in this game. The current line for the game is PIT (+1.5) with a Total of 42.5.
But these picks are vs. the spread, or based on an over/under. These are straight up picks. So, let’s get to the prognostications…
Jeff Hartman
I’m a homer. Always have been, always will be. I also recognize the Steelers have owned the Colts since 2008. Are fans ready for this offensive explosion?? Yes, 21 points would be an explosion of points, and I think the Steelers will do just enough to win this game. Will we be shocked by a dominant performance? Maybe, but it isn’t likely. Nonetheless, I like the Steelers to win and keep their playoff hopes alive.
Prediction: Steelers 21, Colts 20
Dave Schofield
There are a number of different reasons why I believe the Pittsburgh Steelers could bounce back after the last two games and give a much better performance. Whether it be more time for the coaches to prepare, getting the backup quarterback a full week of practice, or simply playing a team that doesn’t defend the run well, the excuses are there to where the Steelers can be victorious in Indianapolis. But I can also see how this team just gives us more the same. Frankly, I’m tired of predicting games and being wrong. So this time I’m predict in a way that being wrong isn’t terrible.
Prediction: Colts 23, Steelers 16
Jeremy Betz
If I had to lock any team in the NFL for a W this week, I would pick the Steelers. Everyone is down on them. Everyone counting them out. That’s when they win. Are they a good team? No. Do they deserve to be in the playoff hunt? Maybe not. Will that win Saturday anyway. Yes they will.
Prediction: Steelers 19, Colts 16
Anthony Defeo
The Steelers currently have the feel of a team in the throes of its first losing season in 20 years. It’s like they’ve been holding on for dear life this year, but I think the dam is about to break (in a bad way).
Prediction: Colts 28, Steelers 10
Bradley Locker
The Steelers just have this weird way of staying alive in the playoff race when all odds are against them, and I think a turnaround of sorts is inbound after two disgustingly bad losses. If Mitch Trubisky can play even a decent game, and Pittsburgh’s defense can limit Zack Moss/Michael Pittman Jr. enough, this game feels winnable. After all, the Steelers have won their last eight games against the Colts. It might be my inner optimism because I’ll be in attendance, but I don’t see that changing.
Prediction: Steelers 17, Colts 13
Big Bro Scho
I can’t feel good about the Steelers moving forward. The past two games were just horrible and I can’t envision a lot changing. The Steelers only chance to win is if the Defense can hold the Colts under 10 points. Possible? Yes. Probable? Not so likely. No JOnathan Taylor for the Colts helps, but will it really be enough? The Steeler offense has been less than anemic, and I see that trend continuing right through the end of the season. The Steelers see the playoffs start slipping through their fingers.
Prediction: Colts 20, Steelers 13
K.T. Smith
This feels like a huge game for Mike Tomlin. He’s been up against it before and rallied the troops. But this is different. The Steelers feel like a team that has lost its way, and for the first time in his tenure I’m not sure Tomlin has the energy or the answers on how to bring them back. I’m normally a homer for the Steelers but it feels really hard to pick them right now. Fortunately, I’m also terrible at picking games, so consider this a positive omen.
Prediction: Colts 20, Steelers 16
