Steelers vs. Cardinals Picks: See who the SCN staff is predicting to win

IT’S GAME DAY!!

That means while we all wait for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals to kickoff at 1:00pm EST in Week 13 on Sunday, it’s time to take a look at who the SCN staff likes in this game. The current line for the game is PIT (-5.5) with a Total of 41.

But these picks are vs. the spread, or based on an over/under. These are straight up picks. So, let’s get to the prognostications…

Jeff Hartman

The Steelers turned a corner last week, but they have to fix the red-zone offense before they are deemed to be a legitimate threat in the AFC. They do a better job of that vs. a weak Arizona defense, and the Steelers defense does the job against Kyler Murray and company.

Prediction: Steelers 27, Cardinals 17

Dave Schofield

A lot has been made about the Steelers improvement on offense which we very well may see more points this game. But as I outlined earlier this week, the Steelers defense and their number one rankings when it comes to points scored over the middle third of the season has really been key. So to me, it’s more about keeping the Cardinals off the scoreboard as much as possible.

Prediction: Steelers 27, Cardinals 9

The 3-game cycle of Steelers football has continued unbroken since the beginning of the year. Bad, good, better all season long. If you’ve been tracking it, you know this game against the Cardinals falls on what should be their “better” game. All indications, including an improving O sans Canada, point to a solid Steelers W except one: Mike Tomlin’s squads are a combined 3-7 in the game after playing two division opponents back-to-back. This clash of precedent is one to watch in Week 13. I think it will be closer than it should be, but the Steelers offense keys a victory!

Prediction: Steelers 27, Cardinals 23

Ever see the stories of regions that have suffered long droughts? Of course you have. Ever see how the citizens react when the rain finally comes? They dance in it. They swim in it. That’s how it will be for the Steelers on Sunday vs. Arizona. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but….

Prediction: Steelers 37, Cardinals 13

I have stuck with the lose one, win two system picking these games since it became the Steelers obvious trend early in the season. I no longer feel that trend is relevant with Matt Canada no longer debilitating the offense. The Steelers are really close to being an NFL caliber offense in his absence, and all it took was the willingness to call the plays Canada refused to call. Like I have been saying all along. Sticking with my Pump Your Brakes podcast prediction.

Prediction: Steelers 27, Cardinals 14

The return of James Conner to Pittsburgh should be fun to see, but I really don’t think this game will be close. The Steelers are the much better team in every facet, and their revitalized offense should be able to keep the good mojo going against a unit that ranks 31st in defensive EPA/play. On the flip side, I expect continued good results for the Steelers’ defense against a banged up Arizona offense. Don’t be surprised if Patrick Peterson collects a revenge interception, too.

Prediction: Steelers 28, Cardinals 10

Was one week of an almost competent offense enough to convince me to pick the Steelers this week? Well it did it seem to energize the players, and it has re-energized the fan base. I expect Acrisure stadium to be much louder and more energetic than it’s been lately. Throw on top of that that the Cardinals are a team that really aren’t very good, and I think I will take the Steelers

Prediction: Steelers 24, Cardinals 13

Pittsburgh’s performance on offense last week was encouraging. This week, at home, against a sorry Cardinals squad, it should improve. Expect the defense to be its normal steady self, and the offense to look NFL-ish. Go Steelers…

Prediction: Steelers 27, Cardinals 17
