Steelers vs. Browns Picks, Week 12: See who the SCN staff is predicting to win
IT’S GAME DAY!!
That means while we all wait for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns to kickoff at 8:15pm EST in Week 12 on Thursday Night Football, it’s time to take a look at who the SCN staff likes in this game. The current line for the game is PIT (-3.5) with a Total of 37.
But these picks are vs. the spread, or based on an over/under. These are straight up picks. So, let’s get to the prognostications…
Jeff Hartman
The Pittsburgh Steelers go on the road looking to make another AFC North statement. The weather is supposed to be less than ideal, but what do you expect from Cleveland? When it comes to the outcome of this game, I see the Steelers making just enough plays to win, but I believe it’s the running games which will determine the winner. I like the Steelers running game and run defense over the Browns, and when the weather turns bad that’s exactly what you turn to in those situations. The Steelers win, and get some needed rest during the mini bye as they continue to feel good about themselves heading into the rest of their regular season schedule.
Prediction: Steelers 23, Browns 13

Last week I thought it was going to be a high scoring game and it was not. This week I’m going in the opposite direction. There are so many things as to why the Steelers should not win this game between being a short week after the Ravens game on the road, but the Steelers came out of the last game very healthy and the Browns are simply not a good team this year. I think the weather keeps the scoring down but the Steelers defense keeps doing what they do.
Prediction: Steelers 16, Browns 6
Jeremy Betz
The Steelers are obviously coming off a hard-fought win over their biggest rival at home, and they head to Cleveland on a short week sitting as a comfortable 4-point road favorite. This has historically been a bad spot for Tomlin teams, but I just feel like this year’s group is different. While I do believe the Steelers will win on TNF, it won’t be easy, despite the Browns’ poor record. AFC North football is always tough, and I expect CLE to keep it interesting for a while, with PIT pulling away a little bit late in the contest.
Prediction: Steelers 26, Browns 17
Anthony Defeo
This feels like one of those wet, cold and ugly Steelers and Browns primetime affairs. I think the offense will continue to have trouble scoring, but the defense should shine in a low-scoring affair.
Prediction: Steelers 17, Browns 6

The Steelers Thursday night record on the road is not good, but then again neither are the Cleveland Browns. The weather at this one will be gnarly, it may come down to which team is more willing to put up with the weather and have fun with it. I feel the Steelers are built better for dealing with this weather so if they can have fun with it I think could pull this one out.
Prediction: Steelers 14, Browns 6

I hate this game for the Steelers. It’s a quintessential trap game coming off of back-to-back tough wins over playoff contenders. Cleveland got rocked by a bad Saints team on Sunday and will be in “nothing to lose” mode. I think the Steelers will win but I expect it to be uncomfortable.
Prediction: Steelers 23, Browns 17
Corey Eckenroth
Bad weather, a short week after a Ravens game, a terrible divisional record on Thursday night games… what else could go wrong for the Steelers? This Browns game may not look much different than last Sunday’s game against the Ravens: Low on offense, high on defense and field position. A true, genuine AFC North football clash late in the year.
A few weeks ago, I would have said that this was the mother of all Tomlin Trap games, but this team feels different this year. They are winning close games and playing well in all 3 phases of the game. The Browns will play them tough, but the Steelers squeak out another win in a game that lots of outsiders will pick against them.
Prediction: Steelers 22, Browns 16
Jason Murphy
It’s going to be a cold and windy night in Cleveland Thursday night. Every intangible is stacked against the Steelers going into this game…Ravens a few days ago, on the road with no rest, bad weather equalizing the skill positions. It will take a monumental effort of will to grind out a win. It might take converting 4th and short downs and possibly even get a 2 point conversion to get the win. This could be the game where the Justin Fields package plays heavily into the outcome.
Prediction: Steelers 12, Cleveland 8
Sadie Hubler
The Steelers are 0-7 on Thursday nights on the road against divisional opponents. Not the best track record to have. That losing streak ends this week against the Cleveland Browns. Pittsburgh will once again take care of business in a physical AFC North matchup against a struggling Browns squad and continue to show what they’re made of.
I look for this game to be low scoring and closer than perhaps one would expect given each team’s record to this point, but the Steelers pull this one out.
Prediction: Steelers 17, Browns 10
