First play of seven shots goes to the defense. Kwon Alexander knifes through the backside B gap and makes the TFL. 1-0 defense.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Second play of seven shots is another run. Cole Holcomb and Minkah Fitzpatrick stack up Najee Harris and he can’t punch it in. Two stops for the defense. 2-0.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Jaylen Warren motions back into the backfield for the third rep. He runs it and slips underneath Minkah Fitzpatrick and powers into the end zone behind Chuks Okorafor. 2-1 defense.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Play action rollout to the right. Kenny Pickett has everyone covered and goes back across his body trying to find Diontae Johnson. But it’s a little high and goes off Johnson’s right hand. Defense 3-1.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Heck of a play by the second team offensive line. At first, McFarland is stunned and held up by Robinson and others. But Jones, Dotson, and Green come and push McFarland into the endzone. 3-2.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Jaylen Warren works off the right side of the line. Spencer Anderson with a great down block clears a lane. Warren breaks Kenny Robinson’s tackle and is in for the touchdown. Tied 3-3.

Like yesterday, Mike Tomlin has called the first team offense and defense back onto the field for the deciding rep of seven shots.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Kenny Pickett steps back to pass and George Pickens smokes Patrick Peterson off the line of scrimmage on a slant route for the touchdown. Offense wins seven shots 4-3.

Diontae Johnson with a great touchdown against Levi Wallace on a fade route. Johnson toe taps in the corner of the endzone for the touchdown.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Darnell Washington catches a dig route against Minkah Fitzpatrick in the one on ones though Fitzpatrick is calling for a push off.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Elijah Riley with a great PBU against Allen Robinson on a slot fade. Riley keeps showing out.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023

Dylan Cook with a big pancake on Toby Ndukwe. Cool looking very solid.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
George Pickens just held off James Pierre with one hand, and caught the ball with the other in the back of the end zone. He’s just absurd.
— Alan Saunders (@ASaunders_PGH) August 16, 2023
Xazavian Valladay makes a fantastic diving grab on a wheel route. Ball was a little out in front of him but he still makes the grab.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Kendrick Green basically getting exclusively H-Back snaps with the linemen during this outside zone drill.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023

Kendrick Green now taking practice reps as a tackle eligible (blocking sealing the edge)
— Chris Adamski (@C_AdamskiTrib) August 16, 2023
Mark Robinson just popped Darius Hagans. Goodness. Inside run is physical.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023

— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
I’ve really liked the intensity shown from Luq Barcoo. Took on the pulling tackle on a toss, went under them and make a big stick on Valladay. Great play.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Defense dominated the team run period today. Physical fits by DBs, LBs knifing through, DL making plays up front.
Pretty good showing by the defense.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Anthony McFarland just took the first team kick return reps. Something to watch.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023

— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Cam Heyward beats Mason Cole for what would’ve been a sack of Kenny Pickett. DL and blitzes are wreaking havoc up front so far.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
I don’t want to say Kenny Pickett is looking bad. What I will say is NOBODY is getting open at all over the past 3 team periods.

Pop pass to Calvin Austin goes for what would’ve been about 15-20 yards. His speed is a game changer.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
It’s a sluggish day for the Steelers offense. Goes beyond just free rushers and some bad OL play. Receivers haven’t been open. Some drops. Some questionable decisions by QBs. Just an overall out of sync day.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
Kenny Pickett hits Darnell Washington up the seam for a 20 yard gain. Good throw and catch.
— Nick Farabaugh (@FarabaughFB) August 16, 2023
