Markus Golden is excited to be back with the Steelers, loves their traditional of attacking OLBs.

He said at one point he started to feel ‘retired’ but he was antsy to get back into pads when the Steelers called and asked him to return.

OLB Markus Golden said he would have signed back with the Steelers immediately after the 2023 season had they asked. Made it sound like they asked him to wait until the time was right, and he appreciated getting time off in spring and summer to spend with his kids.

Fullback Jack Colletto is taking some reps on the defensive side during one-on-one sideline tackling drills. Arthur Smith mentioned the Falcons were able to keep a FB because Keith Smith was a core teamer. Colletto may need to show value in the third phase to stick around.

Tomlin runs the drill now with only offensive guys, looking for “white shirt tacklers,” ie offensive players who can contribute on special teams. Lots of these guys will have to earn their keep on special teams.
