Steelers trade Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles

The Pittsburgh Steelers are making a move not many saw coming, and that is trading Kenny Pickett. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, along with other sources, the organization is sending Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles.

This is the report from Schefter:

The trade itself is not what many Steelers fans will want to see as the details seem more like a pick-swap than anything which could potentially benefit the Steelers in the long term. Here are the details, per Schefter:

The Steelers pick they received is Philadelphia’s third-round comp pick for the second of the two back-to-back picks the Steelers had in 4th Round which was the one from the Los Angeles Rams.

In what was Kevin Colbert’s final 1st Round pick of his tenure with the Steelers, the organization now has to look into the quarterback position even further considering they now only have one quarterback on the roster, again. Russell Wilson’s signing was reportedly the final straw for Pickett and he wanted out of the situation he was currently in moving forward.

The Steelers have a lot of work to do in free agency, and a player like Ryan Tannehill would make a lot of sense for the Steelers considering his connection with Arthur Smith and the lack of quarterbacks on the roster.
