Steelers reportedly trade Kendrick Green to the Houston Texas

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in the process of releasing the remaining 17 players on Tuesday for them to get down to the league mandated 53-man roster by 4 PM EST. While the Steelers have not announced any official moves at this time as they will likely come in one major announcement, it has been reported that the Steelers have traded Kendrick Green to the Houston Texans. This per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

This is the second time in two days the Steelers have traded an offensive lineman. On Sunday, the Steelers traded Kevin Dotson to the Los Angeles Rams. While the Dotson trade has the Steelers moving up a round in each of the next two NFL drafts, the compensation for Green according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is a sixth-round draft pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Kendrick Green was a 2021 third-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Starting 15 games his rookie season before missing time with an injury, Green did not suit up for a single game in the 2022 season and was a player on the bubble to make the 53-man roster this year.

Earlier on Tuesday it was reported the Steelers were releasing offensive lineman Ryan McCollum. The release of McCollum is not one that comes as a surprise as he spent the entire 2022 season on the Steelers practice squad.

The Steelers currently have nine offensive linemen remaining on their roster ahead of the 4 PM EST cut-down deadline. Those players are:

Chukwuma Okorafor
James Daniels
Mason Cole
Isaac Seumalo
Dan Moore Jr.
Broderick Jones
Nate Herbig
Spencer Anderson
Dylan Cook

Stay tuned for Steel Curtain Network’s continued coverage as the Pittsburgh Steelers determine their 53-man roster for the 2023 season.
