Steelers trade 2025 5th Round pick to Jets for Mike Williams
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been looking for a wide receiver since before the 2024 NFL Draft, and their nearly year-long search has seemingly come to a close. According to multiple reports, like the one below from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Steelers are trading a 2025 5th Round pick to the New York Jets to acquire wide receiver Mike Williams.

Mike Williams and the Steelers have been connected since the start of free agency. If you recall, Williams was slated to visit the Steelers after his visit with the New York Jets, but that visit never occurred with Williams signing with the Jets. Now, Williams gets his opportunity with the Steelers, albeit heading into Week 10 of the regular season.
It is no shock Williams was getting moved after the Jets decided to trade for Davante Adams, but the cost was always the question. The Steelers sending a 5th round pick to the Jets might seem steep to some around the league when you look at trade compensation for other players.
In 2024, Williams has appeared in 97 games in eight seasons with 65 starts. In 9 games with the Jets, Williams had 12 receptions on 21 targets for 166 yards and no touchdowns. In his career, he has 321 receptions on 533 targets for 4972 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns, mainly with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare for the Washington Commanders in Week 10.
