Steelers to play regular season game in Ireland in 2025

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Ireland have had connections for an extremely long time. Considering Dan Rooney was once the United States Ambassador to Ireland, and the Rooney family’s Irish roots, this connection is not anything new. The Steelers have a history of playing in Ireland, but never for a regular season game.

That will change in 2025 as it was announced the Steelers will play a regular season game at Croke Park.

The Steelers will be surrendering a home game to play this international game, and it could be just the first of many international games upcoming. After Ireland, it is safe to say the Steelers could be playing a game in Mexico, a place where they have a very strong fan base, in the near future as well.

The NFL is determined to make their game more global, and having their marquee franchises playing overseas is a great way to accomplish this feat. As for the game coming up in 2025 in Ireland, the opponent and date won’t be known until close to the schedule release this spring.
