Steelers starting to get healthy heading into Bills preseason game

As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepare for the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 of the NFL preseason, they are receiving some good news on the injury front. After Tuesday’s practice, here are some updates, and information, regarding some of the Steelers’ walking wounded heading into the game Saturday night at Acrisure Stadium.

Players Returning to Practice

Cam Heyward — Heyward returned to practice after his brief illness.

Joey Porter Jr. — The rookie cornerback was back in full capacity Tuesday after dealing with an ankle injury which kept him out of the preseason game vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Keanu Neal — Neal was back on the practice field and looks like he’s ready to participate in live game action.

Damontae Kazee — Kazee also returned to the action, and is hopeful to return to the field vs. the Bills Saturday.

Players Missing Practice

Larry Ogunjobi — Ogunjobi was seen still in a walking boot, and the injury was described as a foot injury. Mike Tomlin eluded to the injury not being serious, and them holding him out of the lineup being totally precautionary.

Tre Norwood — Norwood remains out of practice with a “lower body injury”.

Nate Herbig — Herbig left practice Sunday with a shoulder injury which needed to be evaluated. While he didn’t practice, he was there and spoke to the media before the session. A good sign the injury isn’t serious.

Nick Kwiatkoski — After suffering a shoulder injury during the team’s preseason game last Friday, Kwiatkoski has yet to practice this week.

Markus Golden — Golden was given the day off as a veterans day off.

The Steelers have only two more training camp practices at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA before they pack up camp and head back to Pittsburgh. The Wednesday and Thursday practices can be tracked right here at SCN.
