From this list, many players spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad in 2024. Players who finished the season on he Steelers practice squad include Dylan Cook, Devin Harper, D’Shawn Jamison, Eku Leota, Aaron Shampklin, Julius Welschof, Brandon Johnson, Jacob Slade and Doug Nester. Other players who were on the Steelers practice squad at some point in the 2024 season include Domenique Davis, Lance McCutcheon and Kyler McMichael.
Following an NFL regular season, any player who is not on a 53-man roster or a practice squad of a team who are still not competing in the postseason is eligible to sign a Reserve/Future contract. These contracts do not count against the team’s salary cap until the beginning of the new league year in March, hence why they are “future.” Players who are on a team’s practice squad may sign a Reserve/Future contract with the same team or may look to sign somewhere else.
