Steelers rookie CB Cory Trice Jr. leaves practice with leg injury
The Pittsburgh Steelers have extremely high hopes for their cornerback tandem from their 2023 NFL Draft class. That tandem would be 2nd Round pick Joey Porter Jr., and 7th Round selection Cory Trice Jr.
Both rookies, especially Porter, have had tremendous training camps so far, but for Trice it all took a turn for the worse during the first padded practice Tuesday. During a live drill, Trice went down with an apparent leg injury, some are suggesting it was a non-contact injury.
Nonetheless, Trice was carted off the field. This per SteelCityInsider.com‘s Jim Wexell:
Rookie CB Cory Trice helped to cart after going down on final run play of first scrimmage. Right leg. Not promising.

While the severity of the injury isn’t known yet, it is natural to fear the worst in these situations. It is worth noting Trice suffered an ACL tear in his junior year in college, but it is unknown if the injury he sustained on Tuesday is to the same leg as the injury he sustained while at Purdue.
