The Pittsburgh Steelers have filled out their 16-man practice squad by announcing three more players on Saturday. After cutting down to their 53-man roster on Tuesday, the Steelers added nine players to their 2023 practice squad on Wednesday and on Thursday they added four more players. The final three players announced on Saturday are as follows:

RB Qadree Ollison

These players were added to the following thirteen who were signed on Wednesday and Thursday:

OL Kellen Diesch
DL Breiden Fehoko
WR Simi Fehoko
OL Joey Fisher
WR Dez Fitzpatrick
DL Jonathan Marshall
LB David Perales
DB Josiah Scott
S Trenton Thompson
TE Rodney Williams

This now fills the Steelers 2023 practice squad. The current configuration is three running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end, two offensive linemen, two defensive linemen, one linebacker, and five defensive backs (three cornerbacks, two safeties). This gives the Steelers an even split of players on offense and defense at eight apiece.

With the Steelers full 69 players set for the time being, one place where they seem to be low on numbers is at linebacker. Only carrying four each at inside and outside linebacker on the 53-man roster, the Steelers only have one outside linebacker on the practice squad in David Perales. With the Steelers sometimes keeping as many as 10 linebackers on the 53, it would not be surprising for them to add another player or two at the position to the practice squad in the coming weeks.

As most fans realize, an NFL team’s roster is an ever-changing thing. As much as there is a fluctuation on the 53-man roster, the practice squad usually sees as many changes, and often many more. Even these players signed with the Steelers may not make it on the practice squad to the Steelers Week 1 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
