Steelers offensive line can’t catch a break as it is dealt another injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line has been forced to be a revolving door this entire season all across the line. Let’s recap, shall we?

Prior to Week 1 the Steelers lost Isaac Seumalo to a pectoral injury, which forced Spencer Anderson into action. Anderson was eventually replaced by Mason McCormick.

Troy Fautanu got the start in Week 2, but his time in the lineup was short-lived when he suffered a season-ending knee injury in practice prior to Week 3. Broderick Jones was inserted as the starting right tackle, and it seemed as if the offense line could start stabilizing.

It was in Week 4 when James Daniels was lost for the season after rupturing his Achilles tendon, which forced McCormick and Anderson into the lineup as the two guards next to rookie center Zach Frazier.

Thankfully, Seumalo returned in Week 5, but the continuity along the line didn’t last long when Zach Frazier left the game in Week 6 vs. the Las Vegas Raiders with an ankle injury.

After the game Mike Tomlin spoke about the injury situation and said Frazier’s ankle injury will need to be evaluated. It should be noted Frazier is one tough customer, and if you have never seen him breaking his leg while at WVU and crawling off the field to not make the Mountaineers spend a timeout is a thing of legend. Frazier wanted to go back in the game after exiting the blue tent, but the medical team took his helmet away and took him back into the locker room for further evaluation.

Tomlin also said both Minkah Fitzpatrick and Donte Jackson, who left with shoulder injuries, were able to return and should be okay moving forward. Other than that, we’ll hopefully find out more information regarding the Steelers injury situation during Tomlin’s typical Tuesday press conference heading into Week 7.
