Steelers leave Week 15 with a loss, and even more injuries
The Pittsburgh Steelers came into the Week 15 game vs. the Indianapolis Colts knowing the urgency of the situation. Needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, it was a playoff type game for the visiting Steelers. If that was a playoff performance, it was one to forget as the team jumped out to a 13-0 lead only to allow 30 unanswered points in the loss.
The loss was bad enough, but the Steelers also suffered more injuries during the game. In the post-game press conference Mike Tomlin talked about some of those injuries to key players.
Shortly after the Steelers lost Damontae Kazee following being ejected due to an unnecessary roughness, Minkah Fitzpatrick left the game with a knee injury. After the game Tomlin said Fitzpatrick will be evaluated once the team gets back to Pittsburgh. Later in the press conference Tomlin was asked if it was a serious injury, and Tomlin said he didn’t want to speculate on the status of the All-Pro safety at that time.
Later in the evening, it was also announced defensive captain Cam Heyward suffered a concussion in the game. He is now officially in the NFL’s concussion protocol, making his availability for next week’s game in doubt.

Other than that, Tomlin said the team suffered injuries which would need to be further evaluated, but would be labeled more as “bumps and bruises associated with the game of football”. Tomlin will speak to the media Monday at noon and will likely have more information on these injuries, as well as the health of Kenny Pickett, for his weekly press conference.
Be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare for another must-win game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16 at Acrisure Stadium.
