Steelers Friday Night Six Pack: Ride the second wave

It’s another week in the NFL offseason, but the first weekend of the new league year. That means one thing, and one thing only — welcome to the start of free agency!

It also means it’s time for a Friday night six pack of questions for the black-and-gold faithful. So, you should know the rules by now, but if you don’t:

State your beverage of choice

What’s on the menu tonight?

What music are you listening to?

As for me, I am taking the family to a BBQ food truck and getting some take out, with some store bought kombucha. When it comes to music, I’m listening to some of my old Jimmy Buffett on vinyl.

Let’s get to the questions!

1 – Of the four moves made this week, reportedly, which was your favorite? Patterson, Lowry, Allen, Watkins

2 – Rank the following positions, in order of importance, BEFORE the 2024 NFL Draft:

  • CB
  • WR
  • OT
  • C

3 – The Steelers could go in a multitude of ways in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. But the two main trains of thought are beef up the lines, or go with a skill position player. Not to diminish the work done on the lines, but it would be the example of going with a WR instead of an offensive lineman. Or a CB instead of a defensive tackle. What are your thoughts?

4 – When you think about the most gut-wrenching regular season losses in your history as a fan, which game ranks as the most difficult?

5 – Everyone has made a huge deal about the jersey number of Justin Fields. It’s being reported he’ll wear No. 5. Some are suggesting this is a way to check and see how the Steelers view Fields, in terms of long-term. How do you view something like jersey numbers? Patrick Queen gets No. 6? Let us know your take!

6 – Baseball is back, and the Pirates are 1-0 as of this being published. I smell a 162-0 season already! Some might not have an answer to this, but who was your favorite baseball player as a kid? For me, it was No. 18 Andy Van Slyke for the Pirates. Who was that player for you?
