The Pittsburgh Steelers needed one of two things to happen to punch their ticket to the AFC Playoffs, and while they weren’t able to claim a victory in Philadelphia, they were able to get their spot in the postseason.

Entering Week 15, this was the Steelers playoff clinching scenarios:

Pittsburgh Clinches Playoffs Berth with:

• Pittsburgh win or tie
• Miami loss or tie + IND loss or tie

For those who are curious, the Miami Dolphins lost to the Houston Texans 20-12 Sunday in the early window of games, and the Indianapolis Colts lost to the Denver Broncos in the late window of action Sunday.

With a playoff spot is secured, the Steelers can they turn their attention to other aspects of the race to the finish. Things like the AFC North, and which seed they could claim when the regular season is completed. The AFC North division could be decided next Saturday when the Steelers go to Baltimore to play the Ravens in Week 16. A win, and they claim the division crown, a loss and it comes down to the final two weeks of the regular season.
