Steelers Burning Question: What is the offensive identity?

Last season I did the Friday Night Steelers Six Pack and wondered if it was worth doing further. After all, interaction was not great, and sometimes you just have to adjust. So I decided to call an audible, and not just abandon the Friday night meeting of the black-and-gold minds.

Instead of six questions, I wanted to focus solely on one question.

We’ll still do the preamble of what you’re eating/drinking/listening to, but we’ll focus our attention on the one Steelers question of the week. Don’t worry, most weeks I’ll do a bonus/extra credit question for fun. With all that out of the way, let’s get to the question!

As the Steelers prepare for the Jets, and are most likely going to turn the offense over to Russell Wilson, it made me think about what the team’s offensive identity is at the moment. Are they a running team? Are they a quick passing team? Are they a play-action team?

In my opinion, the Steelers don’t have an identity on offense at the moment, but I can tell you what I think they would like their offense to be. I believe Arthur Smith would love for this team to be a running team who can then thrive off play-action. Through six games they’ve been able to run the football, but they have struggled mightily in the play-action game.

In other words, this would be where they want to be, certainly not where they currently reside.

What say you?

As for what I’m eating, it’s grilled brats and salad. As for drink, it’s store bought kombucha, and the tunes will be whatever is on Spotify this evening.

Happy Friday everyone!!
