Steelers Burning Question: The division of labor in Preseason Week 2
Last season I did the Friday Night Steelers Six Pack and wondered if it was worth doing further. After all, interaction was not great, and sometimes you just have to adjust. So I decided to call an audible, and not just abandon the Friday night meeting of the black-and-gold minds.
Instead of six questions, I wanted to focus solely on one question.
We’ll still do the preamble of what you’re eating/drinking/listening to, but we’ll focus our attention on the one Steelers question of the week. Don’t worry, most weeks I’ll do a bonus/extra credit question for fun. With all that out of the way, let’s get to the question!
Nonetheless, the question this week is what should the division of labor be for the Steelers in Preseason Week 2? In terms of specifics, what are you expecting as it pertains to the starters/positions when they host the Buffalo Bills at Acrisure Stadium?
Mike Tomlin said the starters would play about four series, depending on how things are going, but I’m truly curious as to how they will handle the quarterback position. Russell Wilson is getting the start, but how many series will he play as he returns from his calf injury? How much will Justin Fields play with the first team? There is still a lot of evaluating to take place at that position.
Outside of quarterback, the playing time of players like Cory Trice Jr., Zach Frazier and Payton Wilson will absolutely be worth watching on Saturday night.
As for what I’m eating, it’s leftover night as we travel back from a family vacation. As for drink, it’s store bought kombucha, and the tunes will be some mash up playlists on the trip back to Maryland.
Happy Friday everyone!!
