Steelers Burning Question: Is Justin Fields ready if called upon?

Last season I did the Friday Night Steelers Six Pack and wondered if it was worth doing further. After all, interaction was not great, and sometimes you just have to adjust. So I decided to call an audible, and not just abandon the Friday night meeting of the black-and-gold minds.

Instead of six questions, I wanted to focus solely on one question.

We’ll still do the preamble of what you’re eating/drinking/listening to, but we’ll focus our attention on the one Steelers question of the week. Don’t worry, most weeks I’ll do a bonus/extra credit question for fun. With all that out of the way, let’s get to the question!

As of writing this there hasn’t been any definitive announcement of who will start for the Steelers in Week 1 vs. the Atlanta Falcons. So, it begs the question if you, the reader, feels if Justin Fields is ready to be the quarterback for the Steelers if called upon.

Maybe Fields starts the game, or maybe he gets inserted into the game if Russell Wilson isn’t healthy enough to do the basic duties associated with the position.

For me, I think Fields brings a different dynamic to the lineup. What Wilson brings in pin-point accuracy, Fields brings in playmaking abilities. What Wilson brings in protecting the football, Fields brings in risk-taking behavior. Being “ready” is certainly an individual perspective, but I think Fields is ready, it just might look different.

As for what I’m eating, it’s leftover night and I’m going to be enjoying this beautiful weather. As for drink, it’s store bought kombucha, and the tunes will be some vinyl records I haven’t listened to in a while.

Happy Friday everyone!!
